When it comes to Excel, I don't think even the developers that came up with the idea for that application actually know to use it at its full capacity, or stop finding new ways to push it to the limit.
These are some quirky fun ideas that won't be beneficial to anybody or any business.
Excel StopMotion "Take on Me" by A-HA!
I made a macro to take a .bmp picture with a specific resolution, read every pixel's colour and fill the corresponding cell with it.
A filedialog was used to select the folder where all the .bmps were located and a loop opened each file to be processed.
To create the .bmps I used Adobe Premiere to batch export every frame of the video at the desired resolution and at a rate of 10 frames per second.
General MIDI player made with VBA macros.
Using the general midi .dll, the keys respond to the click of the mouse.
The play button runs a Sub that goes from left to right reading the value of the note, taking the pitch from the position of the cell.
